Ridgefield has grown faster than anywhere else in Clark County — the population has more than half again since 2020 — so a great deal of its housing is barely a few years old. New construction brings its own failures: supply lines and appliance connections that have never been through a full winter, and crawl spaces under homes whose landscaping has not settled. Far enough west of the Gorge that the east-wind ice events largely pass it by, Ridgefield's water losses are overwhelmingly a wet-season story.
- Supply-line and appliance failures in recent construction
- Crawl space moisture under newer homes
- Mold where a slow leak went unnoticed behind new finishes
